ROADHOUSE REALITY

At 51 years old, I have worked a total of 55 nightclubs and bars over a period of 29 years. I am recognized worldwide as a leading authority in the field of Nightclub & Bar security. I am the author of the books “The Bouncer’s Bible – The Art and Science of working the door.” & "The Cooler's Grimoire - The comprehensive instructional guide to nightclub & bar security." In 1999 I produced the World’s First and only Nightclub Security Instructional Video/DVD under the name "The Bouncer's Bible". I am a Registered Bodyguard with SEAL Bodyguard International & Blackwater Worldwide Inc. While working as a bouncer, I attained an AS degree in Computer Science from McKay College in 1985. In 1986 I invented The CRV - Child’s Riding Belt, a device that allowed children to ride safely with an adult on Motorcycles, ATV’s, Snowmobiles..etc. Later I was nominated for an Honorary Ph.D. from the University of Alberta Canada, in recognition of my creation of the CRV Riding Belt and its contribution toward the rehabilitation of paraplegic children.

Over a period of 9 years I bounced at night and continued to educate myself via internet studies, attending classes, workshops, seminars and lectures. I earned my BA in Criminology from Concordia University, MA in Ancient Western Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford Hill University. I researched a 22,444 word-110 page Doctorate Thesis titled “The Psychological Profile of Serial Homicide” to attain my Ph.D. Major in Correctional Psychology.

In 2003-2005 I completed a two-year Post-Doctorate Fellowship at the Hastings Youth Academy with the Florida Dept. of Juvenile Justice working as an intern psychologist.

I was employed as an Adjunct Psychology Professor teaching undergraduate psychology at Bethune-Cookman College and bounced at a Biker bar in Daytona beach on the weekends.  

I am a MENSA America member with a WAIS-III  - I.Q. score of 144.

Then one day my wife said to me " Your not happy...your head is in your work, But your heart is in Bouncing". It was true, I was sick of the "Dr. Jeckle & Mr. Hyde bullshit.  So I quit being a correctional psychologist and went back into bouncing full time.

Today I am the president of BouncerGear Inc and run the Bouncergear Nightclub & Bar Security Academy in Daytona beach Florida. My goal in life is the pursuit of happiness which entails Bouncing, riding my Harley (Old Sam Crow), smokin' cigars & listening to Elvis, but best of all --> spending time with my wife Shirley.
